Abstract
With SDIP-13 passing, we are now able to utilize DAO resources to compensate contributing members in a variety of new capacities. This proposal attempts to define the right amount of governance for handling these actions in a way that produces the most value for the DAO whilst ensuring that we evolve as an open, decentralized community.
Motivation
Simply put, if we want to create awesome things, we need awesome people who can work well together and achieve outcomes that are greater than the sum of their parts. This requires focus, passion and deep knowledge of a wide range of subject matter.
Looking at other DAOs, this is an important and necessary step for us to evolve as a community and as a source of culture for the Chromie Squiggle.
Success Conditions
- full transparency
- the ability to nominate, trial, onboard, promote, demote and offboard DAO members to specific roles within the DAO
Specification
Governing body
This SDIP proposes that the Board of Squiggle Strategy should be responsible for the nomination of any candidate into a core team role
Nomination
The first step is nomination. This will be done and announced publicly by the BSS and initiate a trial period of up to 3 months during which the candidate will be responsible for the role and be paid the pre-arranged compensation package. This nomination would include a defined role and compensation package.
Compensation
Compensation will follow the SDIP-13 guidelines and be negotiated in advance. This could also change during the ratification process.
Under development is an implementation of Utopia for consistent, reliable compensation payments. Contributing members deserve job security from squiggleDAO!
Benefits
Benefits via Opolis are a Season Zero project and we intend to implement something within this timeframe. We aren't 100% it's possible yet so this will likely remain outside this formal SDIP.
Promotion/Demotion/Job Changes/ Offboarding
While we can try to be the perfect DAO, the fact is that eventually, something won't work out between community members. It's important that we have some plans in place for dealing with these scenarios.
By default, I am going to propose that we reserve this responsibility to the Board of Squiggle Strategy, but I would love to hear some dialogue on this.
If you're reading this draft, please provide feedback to this section. We really want to get this right!
Launch Details
This would launch as an SDIP and take effect immediately upon ratification via Snapshot.
